During the sessions we put a real emphasis on your future. We don't need to go into your past, instead focusing on how you would like to be, not how you don't want to be! ​


I combine talking therapies with Hypnosis, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy incorporating up to date findings in modern Neuroscience.


Hypnosis or 'trance' is a very normal state of mind. It's a state we experience many times a day; when we find our minds wandering. We might call it day-dreaming or have a feeling of not being entirely present, on a car journey or watching the TV perhaps.

We utilise Hypnosis in the hypnotherapy sessions to create a relaxed state of mind which, combined with our talking therapy, supports and encourages beneficial changes in the subconscious mind for long-lasting positive change.

Stress and Anxiety

Stress and anxiety can be incredible debilitating conditions, affecting sleep patterns, relationships, careers, focus and concentration, as well as your physical health. There are many physical and emotional symptoms caused by stress and anxiety which can be alleviated with hypnotherapy. 

Depression & Worry

Depression causes people to experience prolonged low mood, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt or low self-worth, disturbed sleep or appetite, low energy, and poor concentration. A series of sessions of Solution-focused hypnotherapy, along with your commitment to change, can help to alleviate your symptoms and put you back in control. 

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

OCD is typified by unwelcome thoughts, images, urges, worries or doubts that repeatedly appear in your mind. There's no 'bad time' to quit.

Many smokers reach for a cigarette when in a stressful situation. The immediate hit of nicotine after withdrawal may make them feel relaxed but in fact, smoking increases stress levels

Breaking the cycle of addiction

Breaking an addiction is a challenge, especially if it is a lifelong habit, and changing how you think about something can be difficult.

Hypnotherapy focuses on this change. I will support you and guide you through the motions, you’re no longer alone in trying to quit. Because of this, hypnotherapy is fast becoming one of the most popular forms of treatment.

The most comprehensive study into methods of quitting, reported in New Scientist Magazine, found that "hypnotherapy enjoys a greater success rate than any other method in helping people to stop smoking". 

Stop smoking timeline

The time since the last cigarette and how it affects the body:

  • 20 minutes: Blood pressure and heart rate return to normal.
  • 12 hours: Carbon monoxide levels drop back to normal.
  • 24 hours: The body starts to clear out the mucus build-up in the lungs.
  • 72 hours: Breathing becomes easier and energy levels increase.
  • 1 month: Appearance of the skin improves.
  • 3 to 9 months: Lung function can improve by up to 10 per cent.
  • 1 year: Risk of suffering from a heart attack falls to about half of that of a smoker.
  • 10 years: Risk of developing lung cancer falls to about half of that of a smoker.
  • 15 years: Risk of suffering heart attack falls to that of a non-smoker.

It's not really that addictive!

Smoking is a psychological habit triggered by certain stimuli, not a physical addiction to nicotine. During the hypnotherapy session, we will explain how this is so, and why you have been led to believe that you are addicted to nicotine.
